... In 1738, the chamoines of the chapter of Montreal made build the Large Organ by Pierre de Montbrun, organ builder Toulouse. It was rebuilt and increased in 1782, by the factor Jean-Pierre Cavaillé. It was regarded a long time as one of the most beautiful specimens of the invoice of Organ of XVIIIeme century. It is into 1882 that Theodore Puget transformed the instrument into "romantic" Organ. In 1962, a repairing was carried out, and one heard for the first time this restored instrument, at the time of a recital given by Pierre Cochereau 27 Juin 1962. PIERRE COCHEREAU, elected by the Commission of the historical Organ, aprés expertise on the instrument, presented a report/ratio favorable at this Commission, which decided the classification of all the instrumental part, the dresser being already classified.....

Pierre Cochereau, allured by sound qualities of this instrument, but also by the quality of the pipes which make it up, incited the Committee of the Friends of the Organ of Montreal to undertake a great restoration of this Organ, which was carried out with the State aid, in 1968. The councils of Pierre Cochereau were determining for the sound esthetics of this Organ whose composition makes it possible to interpret all the music of Organ of the 18 3rd century at our days. Trés attached to the atmosphere of Montreal, this organist gave of 1962 to 1984, year of its death, two concerts per annum.
Philippe Lefebvre, who succeeded Pierre Cochereau like holder of the Large Organ of Our Lady of Paris, and well-known since a score of years of montréalais, stuck him also to our village, its area, and obviously with the Organ of the collegial one. Thanks to him, the tradition in the concerts perpétue.
Alain Bouvet, holder of the large Organ of the Abbey to the Men of Caen, discovered our Organ there is ten years. Allured by its sonorities, it proposed to Mr Paul Detours, to President of the Committee of the Friends of the Organ of Montreal, to give a recital per annum. It should be noted that Philippe Lefebvre and Alain Bouvet, give all the two their concerts without the least seal nor expenses, with like only objective making known our auprés Organ and its music of an increasingly large audience (municipal bulletin source of infos)
